In 1975, The Hidalgo Trading Company, a small Québec publisher, set out to reimagine Doc Savage for a new Francophone generation. They planned an entire year of original French-language adventures, each paired with bold, unforgettable cover paintings that defined Doc Savage reprints in the USA.
Before a single issue reached readers the project vanished! The company folded, the manuscripts disappeared, and L’Homme de Bronze became a rumor whispered among collectors for decades.
